How does it work?
Because you’re only working out 4 days a week, Joel makes every second count during each workout; they’re structured to keep you lifting on pace and constantly moving, while timed rest periods allow you to catch your breath before attacking each set.
Why only 4 days?
Joel believes if you train smart you’ll never overtrain. Three recovery days a week give muscles time to repair so you can push harder, lift heavier, and get better results faster.
There are two phases for maximum results: For the first 6 weeks, you’ll build, cut, and define your body, followed by 2 weeks to burn through calories and fat, revealing your ultimate physique.
What about nutrition?
The LIIFT4 Program and Nutrition Guide features simple, back-to-basics nutrition with common sense guidelines that facilitate muscle building and fat burning. The BEST part is, you can still have a life — the plan includes an optional “cheat day.” There are no gimmicks, no complicated recipes. Just five easy steps designed to deliver serious results.

Can I do the 2B Mindset with my Beachbody fitness program?
Absolutely! Usually, Beachbody fitness programs are designed to work with their included nutrition program to achieve a specific outcome, but if the 2B Mindset is working for you and you want to take advantage of fitness as "extra credit," by all means do it. Your results may be different than the general intent of the program (adding muscle for instance) but as long as you are getting enough fuel to perform and stay healthy, you are the boss of how you eat. In general, our beginner and beginner/intermediate programs should fit seamlessly with the 2B Mindset. More intense workouts may require you to add an extra snack, incorporate Beachbody Performance supplements, eat a little fruit or other "Fiber Filled Carb" (FFC) before you exercise, or eat more overall using the 2B Mindset "More? Sure!" model. Just make sure to add these modifications one at the time-and, of course, track them so you can see if they're working.
Also, remember that just because you are exercising, it doesn't mean you have to eat more food. You should really only adjust things when you need to, so always listen to your body. Key signs of needing to eat more include not making it through your workouts with the intensity you normally feel, a decrease in performance day by day over the course of your fitness program, feeling more fatigue than normal, inability to sleep, inability to focus, and feeling sore all the time (even after taking days off).
